Red Carpet Series Slated to Return in 2010
The Orpheum Theatre launched the Red Carpet Series in the Fall of 2006. The goal of the Series was to bring nationally and internationally recognized acts of many genres to Galesburg and the West-Central Illinois region. Between 2006 and 2009 the Series brought acts like:
"The Temptations" - R&B smash sensations. A sold-out show
"The Glenn Miller Orchestra" - Big Band at its finest. Also a sold-out show
"Heartland" - a Number 1 country band with hit single "I Loved Her First"
"To Kill a Mockingbird" - a dramatic play interpretation of the best-selling novel
"Javier Mendoza" - Latin-American pop sensation with MTV credits to his name
"Shangri La Chinese Acrobats" - feats of human strength and agility too crazy to believe
Well, you get the picture.
The Red Carpet Series took a brief hiatus in the Fall of 2009 and is slated to return in 2010.
